The main purpose of Astro Locator is to assist in locating Polaris or Sigma Octantis with ease and efficiency, ensuring a swift and accurate polar alignment.
On a single screen, users can access crucial information such as the current direction, elevation, latitude and longitude, altitude, moon phase, sunrise and sunset times, as well as astro twilight times.
Astro Locator's user-friendly interface presents all the necessary data required to locate Polaris or Sigma Octantis effectively.
The tool guarantees precise elevation measurements.
Accurate time, displayed in both UTC and local time zones, facilitates meticulous setup and observation of Iridium flares.
Users can also consult the app to view sunrise and sunset times, as well as astro twilight start and end times, enabling them to plan optimal viewing and imaging sessions.
Astro Locator also includes a Today Extension feature, providing quick access to sunrise, sunset, and astro twilight times directly from the device's Today Widget. A simple swipe down allows users to conveniently view the day's astronomical information.
